Additional documents
If this is your first application to EASA and you do not have an EASA applicant account, you will need to submit a copy of articles of incorporation of the entity or business registration stating the company name, business registration number and legal seat of the company.
In case the applicant is not a company but a natural person, a copy of the person’s ID or passport needs to be provided. Please send these documents in a separate file. If the applicant’s registered address is not indicated on the ID or passport, and additional submission of a substantiating document is requested.
Specific technical documents shall be provided directly to the person responsible for investigating your application.
- copy of the FAA STC to be validated;
- data package (Installation instructions, AFM, ICA, etc.);
- document attesting the FAA STC Holder refusal to pursue EASA validation as well as they statement of “no objection for EASA validation”; or
appropriate evidence that the FAA STC Holder is not existing anymore (Orphan STC); - evidence that the aircraft serial is in the process of being imported from the US to an EASA Member State; and
- evidence that the FAA STC has already been installed to the aircraft before export from the US.

Good to know
Scope: FAA-approved STCs installed on a used aircraft exported from the U.S., regardless of the State of Design of the aircraft, are eligible for a simplified validation by EASA, limited to the exported serial number at the time of import to the European Union under the following conditions:
- The scope is limited to aircraft and installed engines, if applicable, in the following categories:
- Aeroplanes with a maximum take-off mass (MTOM) of 5 700 kg or less, having a Maximum Mach operating (MMo) equal to or less than 0,6 and/or a maximum operating altitude equal to or less than 25 000 ft,
- Sailplanes or Powered Sailplanes,
- Balloons,
- Hot Air Airships, or
- Rotorcraft with an MTOM of 3 175 kg or less and limited to 4 seats, including pilot;
- The US STC holder is unable or unwilling to apply for a validation of the STC;
- The FAA STC is classified as 'Basic' according to the criteria stipulated in paragraph 3.5.3 of the EASA-FAA TIP rev 7.1;
- STCs to an aircraft or aircraft engine that may result in a change (increase or decrease) in the noise level(s) are excluded; and
- STCs for external installations to a rotorcraft are excluded.
