About this domain
Overview
Aviation connects people, supports economies and drives growth, but it also has an environmental impact. So how is the aviation sector responding? The Environmental Domain pages of the EASA website provide an overview on how the aviation community within Europe and globally is working to reduce its environmental impacts (noise, air quality, climate change). Discover how the ‘Basket of Measures’ brings together technology, operations, fuels and market-based solutions to help aviation reach its environmental goals such as net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Learn how EASA is helping turn sustainability goals into real action across the aviation system.
Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing our planet. The industry’s environmental performance, and progress towards agreed goals, is reviewed every 3 years when EASA publishes the European Aviation Environmental Report (EAER). It offers an objective, clear and accurate overview of the sector’s historic and forecasted performance. It also provides recommendations on how the level of environmental protection could be improved to different stakeholder groups, so that sustainability goals really do turn into concrete actions.
