Through IASOM, EASA works with the aviation safety authorities in Malawi to improve their oversight through a series of actions, including support for:
- the enhancement of the regulatory and institutional framework for aviation;
- the technical capacity building of the DCA (Department of Civil Aviation) and other aviation stakeholders;
- the implementation of the Corrective Action Plan resulting from the ICAO USOAP audit performed in 2009.
Furthermore the project includes specific aviation safety related studies and support to the Malawi DCA in the field of air accident investigation.
