The overall objective of the action is to support technical cooperation and partnership in civil aviation, fostering safe, sustainable and resilient air connectivity in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The specific objectives are:
• SO1 - Support the dialogue and cooperation between aviation authorities, strengthen institutional links and encourage regional and bilateral cooperation and / or agreements with the EU and within Latin America and the Caribbean, in the interest of capacity building for safe and sustainable aviation, and support the international dialogue on harmonisation of rules and standards.
• SO02 - Foster synergies to strengthen market access between EU and LAC industry by aiding contacts with national authorities and aviation communities, promoting industrial exchanges, expert knowledge sharing, training, and demonstration activities.
• SO03 - Reinforce and support the development of a regulatory environment compliant with international standards for safe and sustainable aviation. Increase awareness and promote the application of EU and international aviation rules, standards and best practices with regards to aviation safety and sustainability.
• SO04 - Support climate action in global context - In line with the global objective of net zero emissions from international aviation by 2050 (LTAG) and with the Global Framework for SAF as well supporting a global level playing field as promoted under the ReFuel EU aviation rules and cleaner energies, address the adaptation of the aviation eco-system, providing studies and capacity building supporting the production, distribution and use of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) in the region.
