EU-CHINA Aviation Partnership Project

Connecting Markets. Advancing Aviation.

The EU–China Aviation Partnership Project (EU–China APP) is a flagship cooperation programme that deepens strategic aviation ties between the European Union and the People’s Republic of China. Implemented by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), the project supports high-level technical engagement and mutual understanding between the EU and China’s civil aviation authorities, industry, and stakeholders.

The EU–China APP facilitates structured dialogue and technical cooperation across a broad range of aviation domains, including airworthiness, flight standards, air traffic management, airport operations, environmental sustainability, and emerging technologies such as drones and urban air mobility. It also serves as a platform for promoting regulatory convergence and aligning with international best practices and ICAO standards.

Activities under the project include expert exchanges, policy and technical workshops, joint studies, and targeted training—helping to build mutual trust, transparency, and interoperability between two of the world’s largest aviation markets. The initiative also creates pathways for enhanced industrial cooperation and supports both regions in addressing global challenges such as decarbonization and aviation digitalization.

By fostering long-term regulatory and institutional ties, the EU–China APP strengthens aviation safety, innovation, and sustainability—contributing to a more connected, modern, and globally integrated air transport system.
