COLOGNE/BRUSSELS, September 28, 2026 — EUROCONTROL and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) have launched the AVENIR Environmental Catalogue, a new resource providing air navigation service providers (ANSPs) with a structured and user-oriented overview of environmental tools, dashboards, use cases and analytical approaches.
Developed through the EUROCONTROL-EASA joint AVENIR Working Group, the AVENIR Environmental Catalogue is designed to make it easier for ANSPs, and aviation stakeholders at large, to navigate the growing range of environmental assessment and monitoring solutions available, helping users:
- monitor environmental performance
- analyse ATM inefficiencies, fuel burn and emissions
- support environmental assessment and reporting activities
- explore operational and technical mitigation measures
- identify relevant tools, dashboards and methodologies for specific environmental topics and operational questions.
It brings together analytical and assessment tools, monitoring dashboards and data solutions, as well as operational and methodological use cases. Mapping tables also help users identify which solutions may be relevant to particular environmental topics and questions.
The Catalogue is intended as a practical, non-prescriptive resource to improve transparency, accessibility and understanding of the different environmental assessment approaches available today. It does not compare, validate or rank individual tools or solutions.
Designed as a living resource, the Catalogue will continue to evolve as new tools, initiatives and areas of expertise emerge. Future developments will include the integration of additional content related to non-CO₂ aviation impacts.

About the AVENIR Working Group
The EUROCONTROL-EASA AVENIR Working Group comprises experts representing more than 15 ANSPs, alliances and institutions.
Through its work, the Group has been helping to make environmental performance in ATM measurable, reportable and actionable, supporting greater knowledge sharing and collaboration across the sector.
The Catalogue was developed under the co-chairmanship of Tamara Pejovic (EUROCONTROL Aviation Sustainability Unit), Ilona Sitova (EUROCONTROL Maastricht UAC) and Ian Jopson (NATS), who has since been succeeded by Simon Edsforth (NATS).
