2nd EASA-CAAC Aviation Safety Conference announced

29th - 31st October 2018, Madrid (Spain)

The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) announce the 2018 EASA-CAAC Aviation Safety Conference scheduled October 29-31, 2018 in Madrid, Spain. After the successful event of last year in Shanghai, this is the second joint Safety Conference organised by the two authorities. This year’s conference is hosted by the Spanish Aviation Safety and Security Agency (AESA) and supported by the EU-China Aviation Partnership Project (APP).

Chinese and European Aviation industry and regulatory authorities will be invited by the organisers to discuss the latest trends and developments in Aviation Safety. It will also give a platform to European and Chinese leaders of the aviation community to progress on the establishment of a Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreement (BASA) between China and the European Union.

The conference shows the closer ties grown during the past years between the European Union and China. EASA is enhancing the international cooperation relationships with one its world’s counterpart in Asia, the CAAC. The EASA-CAAC Aviation safety conference follows the successful formula already established in the yearly meeting with the US Federal Aviation Authorities (FAA).

Further details about the conference agenda will be communicated in due time.
