Description
A preceding workshop took place on 20 June 2016 at EASA, when the Agency announced the development of a Prototype Regulation for the Open and Specific Categories. This Prototype Regulation was published on 22 August 2016 and can be found at the Civil drones (Unmanned aircraft) page. First feedback has been requested for Mid October with final feedback for 31 October.
The purpose of this workshop is now to identify, based on the comments received, the most important issues and to discuss possible resolution of these issues. The workshop will help to prepare the formal NPA for the Open and Specific Categories that is envisaged by the Rulemaking Task RMT.0230. Although this workshop will focus on the Prototype Regulation, the Agency will also take the opportunity to provide short updates on the two Task Forces it set-up before summer: One was to assess the risk of collision between drones and aircraft and the other one was to study and develop recommendations regarding drone geo-limitations.
