Description
This is a call for registration for the EASA Workshop on Specialised Operations (SPO), which will take place on 12 January 2017 in Cologne, Germany.
The horizontal opt-out, which allows Member States to defer the applicability of the new set of harmonised rules in the field of specialised operations, as contained in Regulation 965/2012 (Air Operations Regulation), expires on 21 April 2017.
In the run up to 21 April 2017, several implementation issues have been identified through feedback from the Member States national authorities and industry representatives.
Experience suggests that proper implementation requires a lot of explanatory work. For that reason, the Agency will organise a workshop in order to discuss how authorities, aerial work operators and aviators best prepare themselves for the upcoming challenges and identify best practices.
The material discussed during the workshop will serve as input to develop further acceptable means of compliance or guidance material so that the industry and NAAs benefit from it.
The workshop will seek input on the following specific issues:
- Determination of high risk commercial SPO
- Use of third country registered aircraft in SPO
- Operators using aircraft for mixed (CAT, NCC/NCO and SPO) operations
- Oversight of declared organisations
- Training and licensing of pilots engaged in SPO
For further information about the event and how to register, please access the event's page.
The draft agenda will be published at a later stage.
