ENCODE, “EASA's Noise Compliance Demonstration Evaluator”, is an MS Excel tool that can be used to calculate the noise level and confidence interval from data measured during a noise test performed in accordance with Chapter 10 of ICAO Annex 16, Volume I. The tool validates each individual test run against the limitations for environmental conditions and performance.
With ENCODE, EASA aims to streamline the determination of noise levels for light propeller-driven aeroplanes and harmonise their reporting, as required by EASA’s Environmental Requirements, resulting in reduced workload for applicants and noise experts.
