EASA enhances online Easy Access Rules with faster navigation and permalinks

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has launched an improved new version of its dynamic Easy Access Rules (EAR) online publications, with faster access and enhanced navigation. Key improvements include:

Speedier performance

EAR pages now load in less than two seconds, enabling quicker interaction. Links redirect almost instantly either within an EAR publication or to external web pages, allowing users to access the relevant content and navigate seamlessly throughout the publication.

Permalinks

Each rule article (e.g. 145.B.005 Scope, GM1 Article 1(1), IS.D.OR.205, AMC1 ARGH.OVS.325(a)) has now a unique permanent identifier (permalink), displayed as a link icon next to the article title. By clicking the icon, users can access the article’s permanent URL and copy it easily. These permalinks remain stable across revisions and across EAR publications, allowing users to bookmark or share links that will always point to the latest version of the article.

Optimised old features

Filters for obtaining the regulatory material tailored to one’s needs are now quicker, more reliable, and can be used in combination. The search function provides for rapid access to the relevant sections, using a revamped table of contents. Last but not least, the new online publications offer easy and better navigation for computers, tablets, and mobiles phones.

The new online publications will go live gradually, the first batch consisting of:

  1. Easy Access Rules for Continuing Airworthiness (Regulation (EU) No 1321/2014) (online version);
  2. Easy Access Rules for U-space (Regulation (EU) 2021/664) (online version);
  3. Easy Access Rules for Information Security (Regulations (EU) 2023/203 and 2022/1645) (online version); and
  4. Easy Access Rules for Ground Handling (Regulations (EU) 2025/23 and 2025/20) (online version).
