
The European Aviation Safety Agency delivered today to CFM International an EASA Type Certificate for its advanced LEAP-1B engine. The LEAP-1B engine will power the Boeing 737 MAX aircraft which will enter into commercial service in 2017.
The LEAP-1B engine flew for the first time on the Boeing 737 MAX on January 29, 2016 and the test campaign is on-going.
CFM International received simultaneously a Type Certificate from the FAA for the LEAP-1B engine.
