Description
Consultation of new Part-21 AMC for small design and production organisations and Competent Authorities overseeing such organisations
The Agency uses an accelerated rulemaking procedure for this part of the task (Art. 16 of EASA MB Decision 18-2015). Instead of consulting a Notice of Proposed Amendment, the Agency is seeking your feedback on the draft AMC, in this dedicated workshop.
Under rulemaking task RMT.0689 the Agency has developed a comprehensive set of new AMC for Part-21 Production Organisation Approval (POA), Design Organisation Approval (DOA) and the related competent authority oversight. This new AMC will allow a more product oriented and risk proportionate compliance showing, reducing administrative burden and overhead for both the applicant and the competent authority.
The proposed AMC is applicable to:
Aircraft not classified as complex-motor powered aircraft which are:
- aeroplanes of 2 730 kg maximum take-off mass (MTOM) or less; or
- rotorcraft of 1 200 kg MTOM or less, certified for a maximum of up to 4 occupants; or
- other ELA2 aircraft, including for example sailplanes and balloons.
Before the workshop, EASA makes the draft AMC available and also offers the possibility to make comments by using the EU Survey tool that you can access via this link.
