Description
This workshop is aimed at bringing together experts in the field of aerospace to discuss the latest developments and advancements in digital twin technology and its impact on certification, in the scope of the MODEL-SI project.
The project is funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe Research and innovation programme, managed by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and implemented by the Zurich University of Applied Science (ZHAW). The main objective of this research is to evaluate the potential and the concrete challenges of advanced modelling and simulation and to better support complex aircraft development, certification and continued airworthiness. As a case study, the loads of a multi-rotor eVTOL will be modelled and validated. The outcomes of this work should support wider applications. For example, determination of Lift Thrust Units loads and their interactions in different configurations. This can lead to new safety standards and regulatory materials. This first workshop aims at presenting the project in detail and collecting your feedback and input about the plan, methods and tools of this research.
Additional preliminary information on the project can be found on the EASA’s website: https://www.easa.europa.eu/en/research-projects/model-si-digital-transf…
