DESCRIPTION
On April 14th, 2026, EASA was notified of a theft of an RB211-535E4 engine part (rear mount, support bracket, P/N: UL17732, S/N: CQYU794) from a Part-145 organisation in Burnley, United Kingdom. The theft occurred on 12 April 2026. The component was undergoing induction for overhaul and no maintenance, repair, or overhaul work had been performed at the time of theft. The component had not been released to service (no EASA Form 1 / UK CAA Form 1 had been issued). All original documentation remains in the possession of the maintenance organisation in Burnley, UK. The security breach has been reported to relevant authorities.
This notification is raised to highlight the potential risk of an unapproved, non-airworthy component entering the aviation supply chain.
