Suspected Unapproved Parts Details
ANAC Brazil issued Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2025-08-01, later revised, following an investigation that identified the distribution of unapproved aeronautical parts by the organization known as H8 ALS Indústria Aeronáutica LTDA (formerly ALS Indústria Aeronáutica LTDA) - hereafter referred to as “H8 ALS”. These parts, which are eligible for installation on an aeroplane and included in the applicability of ANAC AD 2025-08-01 R1, were found to lack the necessary certification and approval required under the applicable aviation regulations.
As the ‘general’ applicability of ANAC Brazil AD 2025-08-01 and its Revision, include aeroplane types and models for which ANAC Brazil does not represent the State of Design for all the products to which it applies, this means that EASA could not adopt this ANAC AD under the provisions of ED Decision 2019/018/ED.
As a result, even though the ANAC Brazil AD 2025-08-01 and its Revision itself do not apply to aeroplanes registered in Europe, EASA concurs with the safety concern addressed by these foreign ADs, particularly that the absence of proper certification raises potential concerns regarding the quality and performance of the identified parts. Use of such components may compromise the airworthiness of aircraft and pose safety risks to operators and passengers.
Operators, maintenance organisations, and suppliers are advised to:
- Review inventory and procurement records for any wheel hubs, brake discs, brake actuators, or brake assemblies manufactured by H8 ALS Indústria Aeronáutica LTDA (formerly ALS Indústria Aeronáutica LTDA), CNPJ 03.619.857/0001-82, with a manufacturing date after 09 October 2003.
- Immediately quarantine any suspect parts.
- Ensure that all parts installed on aircraft are traceable to approved sources and meet the applicable certification standards.
