This Opinion proposes amendments to Regulation (EU) 2015/640 on additional airworthiness requirements for a given type of operations in order to mandate the installation of a take-off performance monitoring system (TOPMS) on large aeroplanes used in commercial air transport and produced on or after a certain date (6 years after the date of entry into force of the proposed implementing regulation amending Regulation (EU) 2015/640, and in particular its Annex I (Part-26)).
The proposed regulatory material is intended to improve safety while limiting manufacturers’ efforts as regards the development and implementation of TOPMS functions to the most beneficial cases. A low-to-very-low cost impact is expected. No environmental and social impacts have been identified.
