EAR Drones cover

The Easy Access Rules for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (EAR for UAS) contain the rules and procedures for the operation of unmanned aircraft, displayed in a consolidated, easy-to-read format, with advanced navigation features through links and bookmarks.

The publication covers Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/947, and the related acceptable means of compliance (AMC) and guidance material (GM), as well as Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/945 on unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and on third-country operators of UAS.

The Revision from June 2026 of the Easy Access Rule for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (EAR for UAS) incorporates the AMC and GM to Regulation (EU) 2019/947 stemming from the ED Decision 2025/018/R published on 29 September 2025, introducing the latest version of the Specific Operations Risk Assessment (SORA) 2.5 package, developed by the Joint Authorities for Rulemaking on Unmanned Systems (JARUS).

This revision is available for free download from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) website:

  • in PDF format;
  • as an enhanced online publication with:
    • optimised performance for quick and seamless navigation,
    • a pair of permalinks for each rule article pointing to the latest version of the article and to the article version under the displayed amendment,
    • improved filters and search functions; and
  • in XML (machine-readable format) that can be easily processed by and synchronised with local applications, search databases, etc.
