EAR for ATM/ANS Equipment

The first Easy Access Rules (EAR) for Air Traffic Management / Air Navigation Services (ATM/ANS) Equipment (Regulations (EU) 2023/1769 & (EU) 2023/1768) include:

  • detailed rules for the certification and declaration of ATM/ANS systems and constituents;
  • technical requirements and administrative procedures for the approval of organisations involved in the design or production of ATM/ANS systems and constituents; and
  • the acceptable means of compliance and guidance material (AMC and GM) to the aforementioned requirements,

displayed in a consolidated, easy-to-read format with advanced navigation features through links and bookmarks.

The EAR for ATM/ANS Equipment incorporate in particular the following rules:

The EAR for ATM/ANS Equipment are available for free download on the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) website:

  • in PDF format;
  • as an enhanced online publication with optimised performance for quick and seamless navigation, permalinks of all rule articles, as well as improved filters and search functions; and
  • in XML (machine-readable format) that can be easily processed by and synchronised with local applications, search databases, etc. 

As they are generated through the eRules platform, they will be updated regularly to incorporate further changes and evolutions to the implementing and delegated acts, as well as AMC & GM.
