According to Article 7(3) Regulation (EU) No 598/2014, EASA has a mandate to collect, verify and make available aircraft noise and performance (ANP) information for noise modelling purposes. This data is provided to support the computation of noise contours around airports using the methodology described in ICAO Doc 9911, ECAC Doc 29 or Annex II to Directive 2002/49/EC.
This ANP data is available to the following users:
- any competent authority, aircraft operator, air navigation service provider and airport operator as described in Article 7(6) of Regulation (EU) No 598/2014;
- other parties that can demonstrate a need for modelling purposes in accordance with Article 7(3) of Regulation (EU) No 598/2014.
EASA has collected and verified aircraft noise and performance data for the following types EASA verified ANP data aircraft types.

ANP Legacy Data
The legacy Aircraft Noise and Performance (ANP) data ANP Archive tables – Version 2.3 was formed by EUROCONTROL prior the Reg. (EU) 598/2014 came into force, which gave EASA a legal mandate to collect and verify the ANP data. It was agreed to handover the management and hosting of the ANP legacy data directly to EASA in order to establish a single ANP data source. The legacy ANP data was historically collected by both EUROCONTROL and the FAA and was previously verified by the FAA/U.S. DOT Volpe Center.
ANP Aircraft Substitutions
Aircraft models and variants that are not presently covered by the ANP databases must be represented by substitutes (often referred to as ‘proxy’ aircraft), i.e. aeroplanes with similar noise and performance characteristics that are included in the database that can be adequately scaled (in terms of “equivalent number of movements”) to represent the missing aeroplanes. To facilitate the substitution process, the ANP database includes a table that maps currently operating commercial aeroplanes with detailed airframe-engine combinations, which is compared to the aeroplanes listed in the actual database. The substitutions table ANP aircraft substitutions – Jets & heavy props provides a list of suggested aircraft substitutions.
