AME Working Relations

Promoting a safe and extensive career in Aviation

Aviation is a complex environment covering a variety of activities. The human component is one of the most important elements in this system, thus having fit aeronautical personnel is essential in order to ensure aviation safety. This creates the need for Aeromedical Examiners (AMEs) to be aware of the different operational environment and the corresponding risk factors.

AMEs should always be trained and updated on the aero-medical issues and have a good cooperation with the competent authorities and the applicants. The purpose of this leaflet is to share with the AMEs the recommended practises concerning the aero-medical examination and assessment of the applicants. AMEs should consider the steps mentioned in the leaflet in order to ensure that the medical examinations and assessments are performed in accordance with the best aero-medical practises.
