The main objectives of the study are as follows:
- collecting and analysing data on the use of single-engined helicopters in the EASA Member States for all types of operation;
- conducting a safety risk assessment in support to the decision if, and under which conditions, commercial air transport operations6 can be conducted over a hostile environment and the impact this might have on such operations;
- potentially conducting a regulatory impact assessment identifying and clearly describing the safety as well as economic, social and environmental impact of the proposed rulemaking action, if the study recommends any rulemaking action.
