Easy Access Rules for Airworthiness and Environmental Certification (Regulation (EU) No 748/2012)

Revision from March 2021 - Available in pdf and online format

This document contains the applicable rules for Airworthiness and Environmental Certification of Aircraft and related products, parts and appliances, as well as for the certification of design and production organisations.

It covers Commission Regulation (EU) No 748/2012 and all subsequent amendments to this, followed by the related acceptable means of compliance (AMC) and guidance material (GM), and their amendments, all displayed in a consolidated, easy-to-read format with advanced navigation features through links and bookmarks.

This revision, from March 2021, updates the applicable rules resulting from ED Decision 2021/001/R (AMC and GM to Part 21 — Issue 2, Amendment 11), and:

  • addresses a safety recommendation related to an accident in Norway on April 29, 2016;
  • resolves certain recurrent implementation issues, related to proper identification of the product configuration affected by the change or repair;
  • provides clarifications to prevent misinterpretation of the Regulation, as noticed during design organisation approval (DOA) holder initial investigation and surveillance activities;
  • aligns the means of compliance with the current industry practice; and
  • improves the AMC and GM.

As it is generated through the eRules platform, the document is regularly updated to incorporate further changes to the regulations and AMC & GM.
