This document contains the applicable Easy Access Rules (EAR) for Aircrew (Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011) including technical requirements and administrative procedures related to civil aviation aircrew.
The EAR for Aircrew are displayed in a consolidated, easy-to-read format with advanced navigation features through links and bookmarks.
NEW – the EAR for Aircrew are now also available as an online dynamic publication. This format contains filters, search functions, and easy navigation for computers, tablets, and mobiles.
The Revision from December 2021 incorporates the amendments introduced into Commission Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011 by:
- Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/359 as regards the basic instrument rating (BIR); and
- Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/2193 as regards the requirements for flight crew competence and training methods, and the reporting, analysis and follow-up of occurrences in civil aviation.
Also reflected in the EAR for Aircrew is EASA ED Decision 2020/018/R amending the Acceptable Means of Compliance (AMC) and Guidance Material (GM) to Annex I (Part-FCL) and Annex VI (Part-ARA) to Commission Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011 on ‘Basic instrument rating’.
As the document is generated through the eRules platform, it will be regularly updated to incorporate further changes and evolutions to the implementing rules (IRs), delegated rules (DRs), and to the related acceptable means of compliance (AMC) and guidance material (GM).
