Since the publication of the 2019 EAER, there has been a change in the methodology of allocating the auctioned EUAAs between different years. Data in Figure 7.1 reflects the years in which the EUAAs were effectively released to the market. This applies especially for allowances attributable to years 2013, 2014 and 2015, which were all auctioned in 2015. The 2014 auctions of EUAAs relate to auctioning of EUAAs due to the postponement of 2012 auctions.
