EASA also issued a STC to Garmin for their low-cost GFC500 autopilot system. See below our Certification Director Rachel Daeschler handing over the certificate to Phil Straub, Vice President of Garmin's Aviation Engineering, last Thursday 11 April at AERO in Friedrichshafen.

EASA Certification Director Rachel Daeschler handed over the EASA Type Certificate to Tecnam's CEO Paolo Pascale for their new P2012 which expands Tecnam’s aeroplane portfolio now up to a 9 passenger, twin engine aeroplane with IFR and FIKI capabilities and the intended use for commercial air transport.

Another great AERO with EASA's GA team! Our stand was and continues to be very well visited, with many questions and answers and inspiring discussions. The atmosphere is great and we get good feedback on our work!
The same goes for our events: at our yesterday’s main press & stakeholder event, the GA Roadmap Lunchtime update, we presented all our achievements of the General Aviation Roadmap so far, and also talked about all the exciting activities ahead during the next phase – the GA Roadmap 2.0.

Our Highlights this year are the launch of the GA Safety Award (https://www.easa.europa.eu/newsroom-and-events/events/easa-aero-2019#ga…),
the Part-21 Light (https://www.easa.europa.eu/easa-and-you/general-aviation/general-aviati…) which provides a new revolutionary design and production process for light aircraft,
and our simplified FCL rules for sailplanes and balloons.

Together with AOPA we will show and further discuss how the whole General Aviation Community can get involved in 'Safety Together!' at our mini conference on Safety Promotion this afternoon at 14:00 at AERO in Room Rome.

Looking forward to a decision on the use of Annex 1 aircraft for Part FCL Licence and rating training and for revalidation.

Question
If I hold a PART FCL PPL (A) and have a class 2 medical.
On my medical certificate there is a box marked LAPL with a date.
If I let my PART FCL PPL (A) medical run out can I still fly under the LAPL
date , but restricted to LAPL privileges.
