7 years ago PublicAs I understand it, over-regulation and in particular mandating that manufacturers recommendations to be treated as mandatory decimated the availability of light twins to the GA community. I had MEP but due to difficulty in getting hands on a light twin, this expired some years ago. I had thought of starting a group and going the N reg route; what is the current EASA situation with this? As I get old enough to slow down with work, I want to do more interesting trips with my wife and this needs two engines and the BIR (which looks like it's at least a year away). Anyone in SW France interested in a twin group if it's feasible?

7 years ago PublicRegulation 2018/1119 for Declared Training Organisations (DTO) is now approved!
https://www.easa.europa.eu/document-library/regulations/commission-regu…
As promised in the GA Roadmap, the new Part-DTO (Declared Training Organisations) grants significant alleviations for the GA training domain. Training providers for Light Aircraft Pilot Licence (LAPL) and Private Pilot Licence (PPL) will no longer need to seek prior approval of their training organisation, they will have to make a declaration to the competent authority instead.
