The Covid-19 crisis is testing our Aviation community like never before. One of the greatest challenges is to look after our wellbeing and mental health.  A ground of experts at global level recently came together to create this Aviation Professional's Guide to Wellbeing to help people get through this challenging situation.  The majority of the information in the guide is applicable to all of us so we thought it would be useful to share this here as well.

Regardless of what you are doing personally and professionally at the moment, the guide has been developed to give practical, easy to use advice.  It has been developed in a collaboration between psychologists and aviators to help us all get through this crisis together. Ask yourself these three questions every day:

My Wellbeing

The WHO defines wellbeing as “a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”.  But wellbeing does not exist independently of our physical and social health.

This ‘BioPsychoSocial model of Health’ allows us think of our health as a 3-legged stool, in which each of the legs represents one of the pillars: Biological, Psychological & Social. The physical, mental and social aspects of our health are inter-dependent and a holistic approach is needed to look after them.

Wellbeing Wheel

We are one aviation community and we will get through this crisis together. In these challenging times, remember to look after yourself and be excellent to each other. Follow the 4, 3, 2, 1! Check out the guide in the attachment.
