Fraudulent workshop - engine overhaul

Dear GA flyers,

Just to let you know that a customer just had a very bad experience with a Czech Republic based engine maintenance shop named Aeromotory which took the money last November and never delivered the engine pretending it is lost in shipping without any document to show any shipping action. Several Czech flyers seem to have had same kind of experience (missing parts, delayed work, no delivery...).This Part145 shop (how can you have a 1 man Part 145 facility?) seems to have unofficialy relocated some operations in Denmark. Czech CAA is aware of behavior but seems unable to do anything before next "inspection".

Just watch out ...

Hello,
Philippe D. ordered a supposedly available overhauled O-320 H2A for C172 P in November for 23 500 € including shipping. We were supposed to install the engine on the aircraft in January. Then the engine suddenly vanished, being supposedly in the UK, then somewhere in Europe, then back in Czech Republic. The guy (his name is Petr Ruhelek) pretented that he had shipped through a small company, then a larger one, then said everything was blocked because of COVID...and never presented a proof of anything.
Net result: 5 months after paying the engine, there is nothing hanging at the nose of the airplane and the money is gone. Philippe looked for the guy and found out that some Czech plane owners had the same kind of experience. I contacted Czech CAA for him and they say they are aware this guy (a PART 145 all by himself! seems crazy) has a track record, but cannot do anything because they are not concerned with business...
We are said by local people that he is currently practicing in Denmark (with a Czech Part 145?).
Just be aware and watch out

yes, I'm sorry, unfortunately I have heard this from time to time. Even in the Baltic countries. Be careful, it's not always worth looking for the cheapest, especially if you don't know the company. I wish you the best of luck that you still get the engine Ernst
