TMG training flight - FCL vs SFCL

When comparing FCL regulations to SFCL regulation when it comes to TMG training flights there is a subtle difference between the two.

FCL SFCL

SFCL.160: a training flight of at least one hour total flight time with an instructor.
FCL.140.A: Refresher training of at least 1 hour of total flight time with an instructor.
The later giving you the option to do multiple shorter flights.

My questions:

1. Why is there this difference?
2. Is the SFCL not derived from the FCL and why was it made more under SFCL strict?
3. What is the best way forward bringing this onder the attention of EASA, so it can be better aligned in an update of the regulation?
4. Would it be acceptable for a SPL-TMG license holder to also make multiple short flights to be compliant to the SFCL.160?

Yes, both versions mean the same. The flight can be split by intermediate landings. However, it is not possible to spread the one hour training flight over several days.
Nevertheless, the wording of SFCL.160 has been put on the shopping list for the next update.

There is another point about the differences. SFCL views TMG as a privilege and FCL views it as a class rating.
- Is the training for TMG according to SFCL to be completed in 6 months like TMG according to FCL.725(c)?

Separate regulations for ballooning and gliding have been introduced to allow for tailored rules. SFCL and BFCL differ from FCL intentionally.
