Help future of aviation decision making – GAMA/ EASA Survey of GA flight hours
When EASA make decisions on GA safety they take a data driven approach that involves both accident/ occurrence data as well as other sources of information such as flight hours. The collection of flight hours in general aviation is a big challenge and to help collect the best possible information EASA and the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) team up every year to develop a survey of GA aircraft owners/ operators in the 31 EASA Member States plus the United Kingdom to allow accurate and representative estimates to be made about aircraft operation in Europe to support safety and economic analysis of the sector. For example, the flight hours are used to estimate total flight hours per type of operation in Europe, which are used by EASA to calculate accident rates reported in their Annual Safety Review.
Individual Responses will be confidential and will not be shared with either the public or regulators, nor will they be used for marketing or any other commercial purposes. Aggregated Data (European, National or by aircraft category or operation category) will be made publicly available free of charge and shared with regulators such as EASA to support regulatory impact assessments and other uses.
You can complete the survey online here.
If you have questions about this survey: please contact brussels@gama.aero at any time. If you are responsible for or have data for a large fleet of aircraft (more than 50 aircraft or more than 10 different aircraft types), please contact us before completing this survey.
