Hi All,

If a Flight Instructor certificate allows the holder to exercise privileges according to FCL.905.FI (a) and (b), how does a Flight Instructor add another Class (e.g. SEP Sea & TMG) to the Flight Instructor certificate?

In my case I have (a) and (b) but my FI Cert shows only SEP Land. However, I also hold SEP Sea & TMG, do I need an Assessment of competence to extend to another class?

Thanks!

Hi andrewpower, if you want to add more privileges to your FI certificate them you have to do the courses according to the new privileges you want. For example, actually, as you said, you are FI with SEP(Land) and SEP(Sea), and you wish to instruct SEP(Sea), them you have to do the CRI SEP(Sea) Course (for example this. https://www.ontrackaviation.com/cri-sea-se.html).

Same if you want to extend it, for example, to MEP(Land), you need to do the CRI MEPL (and hold MEPL endorsed and comply with CRI MEPL course requirements of course)
