Hello,

I am seeking clarification regarding Appendix 2 to Part-FCL, concerning the IR revalidation credits when a skill test or IR proficiency check is conducted.

The regulation states:“If a skill test, proficiency check or EBT practical assessment including IR is performed, and holders have a valid:”

My understanding is that the credits granted depend on the qualifications currently held by the applicant, not on the type of aircraft used to perform the check itself.

In my case:    •    I hold valid class ratings: SEP (land), MEP (land), and a SP HPA type rating (Beechcraft B300)    •    I performed an IR proficiency check on the B300 (single-pilot HPA complex aircraft)

According to the table in Appendix 2, this should fall under the “SP HPA complex” line and allow me to revalidate my:    •    SEP and IR SE    •    MEP and IR ME (partial credit – only section 3B)

However, I’ve been told by my competent authority that the credits in 2nd line of the table ("SP ME aeroplane class or type rating ...") are only granted if the test is performed on a non-HPA aircraft .

This seems to contradict the wording of the regulation which focuses on what the holder has, not what aircraft is used.

Can someone from the community confirm the correct interpretation?

Thank you very much in advance!
