Hello, I wanted to ask a question related to Maintenance Peogram for a C182 operated privately.
Can the items listed in the Replacement Time Limits of the AMM, be deviated from de DAH, when ALS are not listed in the TC.
For example fuel and oil hose in a C182, are listed as time limit, but not as ALS, so can they be deviated on the declared AMP?
Thanks
In the context of aircraft maintenance, the Replacement Time Limits specified in the Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM) can typically be adhered to, even if they are not explicitly listed as Airworthiness Limitations Sections (ALS) in the Type Certificate (TC). However, deviations can be considered based on the maintenance program and the operator's policies.
For example, if the fuel and oil hoses in a C182 are listed in the AMM with specific replacement intervals but are not classified as ALS, the operator may have the flexibility to extend those intervals in their approved Aircraft Maintenance Program (AMP). This usually requires a proper justification, such as usage history, condition monitoring, or engineering assessments.
Always ensure that any deviations are documented and comply with regulatory requirements and the manufacturer's guidance. Consulting with your maintenance organization or regulatory authority can provide clarity and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
Although such items may be extendable time wise, with clear and documented justifications as referenced by Suhail above, I would question the safety culture of any individual/organisation who is considering ignoring manufacturer statements on when a part/component should be replaced.
