CS-STAN evolution

Following the start of CS-STAN, revisions are in progress to add new topics for standard changes and standard repairs. This topic in our community site is started to discuss proposals for future use.

Please share your ideas and suggestions for new standard changes and repairs that would be suitable to be included. Consider that the proposals should be Low risk and released by suitably qualified mechanics.

A standard change for the installation of solar panels on sailplanes is on our list of candidates for the next issue of CS-STAN. However, we have to explore carefully whether such modification can be done within the limits of a standard change.

I would like to know what has been the approach that the NAAs in Europe are using to allow maintenance organisations to use CS-STAN to perform the prescribed modifications. According to the rule itself, it should be a very straightforward process, however some NAA don't think that way and over complicating the application of the CS-STAN.

The AMC of CS-STAN (Part 21) forwards to the AMC of M.A.801 of Part M. I do not have a problem interpreting that information, but seems that some authorities do.
I was trying to know which difficulties, if any, other people are facing in regard to the application of CS-STAN in their own countries.

It shouldn't be too complicated, at least it is not in my organization when we have applied CS-STAN numerous times (especially ELT installations and standard repairs from AC-43-13.1b). Make sure the MOE of the Part 145 organization includes a CS-STAN procedure, that the procedure is well documented (available and clear instructions to perform the necessary task) and that an EASA Form 123 is properly filled. What you can't do is e.g. write on a work order "ELT installation according to CS-STAN" and not have a proper description of the parts and the procedure on how to install it. CS-STAN facilitates the access of PArt 145 organizations to procedures that were once only under Part 21 approvals, it is a NOT a way to avoid paperwork (if anything, it generates more).

Dear readers and active writters,
You might already be aware that the next proposal for the Standard Changes and Repairs (CS-STAN) is out there for your comments until December 11th. See: https://www.easa.europa.eu/document-library/notices-of-proposed-amendmeā€¦
In order to get an idea if that is liked /or not, a very simple like to this post would give us an impression.
So, if you like the proposal, like this post, otherwise dislike and provide feedback via the normal comment possibility (The CRT). Thanks!
