I perfectly understand the point, which is in discussion as long as EASA exists. Unfortunately, EASA has no access to the translation service of the Commission, nor has EASA been assigned the resources to translate soft law.
Some NAAs and Federations (Aero Clubs) provide translations of essential documents already. Something we very much appreciate.
We are about to enter in a cool-down period for rulemaking related to GA now. E.g. we expect that there is no need to touch Sailplane OPS the next ten years. Consequently, I would expect that more and more training books related to EU air law will be published.

Hi all,
I wondered if anyone could clear-up some confusion I have about the LSA category.
Recently, several aircraft have been approved under this category (MTOM 600kg), but I wondered what the plan / options were for similar aircraft (i.e. previous / older versions already on the market) which had a national microlight/ULM status (e.g. MTOM 472,5kg)?
For example, could these aircraft be certified as LSAs (e.g., granting MTOM 600kg, ease of flying between Member States like traditional GA, addition of night VFR etc) following necessary documentation and/or modification?
I also wondered if there is / would be a legal framework in the pipeline for LSAs to be given some form of IFR capabilities in the future?
Any help / insight would be appreciated!

For any GA user wishing to learn or refresh their aviation knowledge, I recommend the FAA Safety Team Portal and "Wings Courses (Courses for Pilots!)" Resources: https://www.faasafety.gov/gslac/ALC/course_catalog.aspx
You will find plenty of great materials for GA community. Most are available for free. The downside is, you need to be careful about the legal reference. Those are an FAA based.
In fact, EASA could prepare a similar program for EU pilots. In the US an award system works fine and motivates the community to put some extra effort. A great deal of the available CBTs/e-learnings could be used "As Is". Physics is the same everywhere.
For in-flight icing I recommend NASA training:

Summer season has started!
Note that the performance of your aeroplane will be affected by the temperature, the take-off distance will increase, specially in the higher airfields. The climb performance is also affected, take it into account when flying in the mountains!. You can read more about density altitude in the latest Safety Promotion material of Sunny Swift: https://www.easa.europa.eu/newsroom-and-events/news/sunny-swift-density…
Enjoy your flights!
Great !! ;-)

Looking forward to a decision on the use of Annex 1 aircraft for Part FCL Licence and rating training and for revalidation.
Any news on the use of Annex 1 aircraft for Part FCL licence and rating training and revalidation?

Dear colleagues,
My aeronautical background began thanks to my dad long time ago. He was C130 pilot in the Spanish AF and then he jumped into airlines. Following him as an inspiration, I’m an aviation passionate and I decided to join the AF Academy in 2008. My flight training started in 2010 (T35C, C101, F5, H120 and S76) finishing it in 2013. Up to now, I have been involved in flight instruction in both helicopters and planes (my case is strange I know). Apart from the military, I also fly GA for pleasure since long time ago which has allowed me to meet great people and share amazing flight experiences. Moreover, I’ve begun taking steps ahead getting my brand new FI restricted which I hope to use it for many years. In addition to this experience, to say that I was very lucky for being part of SESAR PJ7 in TBOs the part related to operational Flight Plan in 2017. Such experience gave me a thorough knowledge of what’s going on today in the European Skies in terms of ATM. Looking forward to learning from you all!

Question
If I hold a PART FCL PPL (A) and have a class 2 medical.
On my medical certificate there is a box marked LAPL with a date.
If I let my PART FCL PPL (A) medical run out can I still fly under the LAPL
date , but restricted to LAPL privileges.
I have information that the relevant amendments to Part-FCL passed at EASA Committee yesterday.

Skyway Code: May 2019 edition is available!
http://publicapps.caa.co.uk/modalapplication.aspx?appid=11&mode=detail&…
Oriented towards Visual Flight Rules (VFR) flight, the Skyway Code is intended to provide GA pilots involved in non-commercial and flight training operations with practical guidance on the operational, safety and regulatory issues relevant to their flying. Pilots of all aircraft categories, powered or unpowered, should find it useful.
Feel free to use and share this excellent UK CAA CAP 1535 Publication!
Best regards,
Michel, EASA Senior Safety Promotion Officer
Nice work !
