Agreed, great work by A4A. I couldn’t see any mention of ADSB, I recently took part in conspicuity trials at North Weald and also participated in the GAINS PBN approach trials for PPLs with IR or IRR. Both these trials I am sure would be of use in developing resources for flexible airspace proposals.

What’s the story with Night Rating and a Nov 11th change to this?
Hot off the AOPA UK press just now:
Night Rating. The CAA has kindly introduced an extension for those who may have started Night Rating training before 11th November 2019. Provided that they complete the course before 31st March 2020, they will be exempt from the new 6 month limit. Incidentally, the ‘6 month’ time starts from the first date of night training which the applicant intends to use for the qualifying course. Also note that application for the rating does not need to be made within the 6 month period. We have also had some queries concerning Night Rating training during the PPL course; although we have proposed this to EASA, currently the situation remains that an applicant must have completed the LAPL or PPL course, including the Skill Test, before starting Night Rating training. Application for the LAPL/PPL does not need to have been made before training for the Night Rating has started - applicants may apply for the issue of the Night Rating together with the licence.

How about putting the Su29 on the IOM or Guernsey registers
try speaking to the people that run these registers i understand they accept FAA stuff.

A new version of the Easy-Access-Rule for Maintenance has been published. It includes the new Part-ML, Part-CAMO and Part-CAO annexes., which apply as of 24 March 2020. The related AMC/GM is not included yet.

My base airfield in the U.K. prefers overhead joins because it gives time to scan the circuit and merge safely into the traffic pattern. My recent instructor renewal long briefing was all about the correct method to conduct an overhead join. On my return home I encountered an aircraft doing it completely the wrong way so eyes out all the time in the circuit.

PLBs are less prone to accidental activation because they require several deliberate actions to activate. They can also be taken with you if having to ditch in the water. ELTs require an impact to activate and will stop working if the aircraft sinks. If you have both, great, but a PLB is the minimum.

Yes, I got it. The strange thing is that the form for the examiner report of the skill test and the proficiency check is the same... From my point of view it would just make sense to accept a skill test CPL/SE also for revalidation of the PIC SEP rating... but I will never have this issue again. Yes I solved it by having the examiner filling the form a second time to be the profichiency check - with regards to content it is nonsense IMHO.

Drone Infringement Safeguarding – ATS Traffic Display Video
Follow link to see video: https://airspace4all.org/drone-infringement-safeguarding-ats-traffic-di…
As part of the joint Airspace4All/NATS Drone Infringement Safeguarding Project, City Airport (Manchester Barton) was the venue for an evening flight programme on Sunday 18th August 2019 where a drone and three GA aircraft, all equipped with electronic conspicuity flew a carefully planned exercise of circuits and circuit joins in the Barton ATZ to evaluate the efficacy of ADS-B for drones in the real world GA environment.
The video clip of the Barton ATS ADS-B Traffic Display shows the one hour flight programme, which took place outside normal airfield opening hours, compressed into less than a minute. The drone, callsign PING02, flew within the bounds of the airfield and can be seen in the centre of the ATZ display on the right half of the screen.
The drone was configured to broadcast and receive ADS-B, making it electronically conspicuous to the GA aircraft while also receiving ADS-B traffic information on the three GA aircraft that were flown. The GA aircraft were also equipped with ADS-B In & Out so were capable of receiving traffic information on each other and the drones.
All the while Barton Information was providing an Aerodrome Flight Information Service aided by their ADS-B Traffic Display provided under the Airspace4All GA Airfield ATS ADS-B Traffic Display Trial.
The flight programme was researching the use of ADS-B for drones in the GA environment, gathering information on the reliability and range of drone ADS-B broadcasts and visual acquisition by GA pilots. The flight programme was undertaken by Barton ATS staff (who are also GA pilots) plus EJS Aerial (drone pilot) supported by Barton ATS, Airspace4All and NATS R&D. ADS-B equipment for the drones has been kindly loaned by uAvionix. We aim to publish the report on the Drone Infringement Safeguarding Project by the end of October 2019.

Airspace4All has published its report on the Airspace4All GA airfield ATS ADS-B Traffic Display Trial.
https://airspace4all.org/reports/report-on-airspace4all-ga-airfield-ats…
This document reports the findings of the Trial which sought to test mitigations to the increased risk of mid-air collision that had been identified to occur in airfield traffic circuits and adjacent airspace.
The report is based on feedback provided between 1st March 2019 and 31st August 2019 by AFIS and AGCS units at three UK GA airfields. These units were equipped by Airspace4All with real-time flight tracking equipment that provided a situational awareness tool with the potential to enhance the level of service and thus the safety of aircraft flying in the vicinity of the airfields.
The full report is 61 pages long.
For those seeking just an overview I have created a 10 page Summary version and a 2 page Executive Summary version.
All three versions of the report are now available on the same webpage referenced in the original posting.

The question is becoming more complex., if you ask for the combination:
1. CPL licence with valid SEP & FI rating (or PPL)
2. LAPL medical only
Does the medical class consider instruction or not?
I believe not, which means once more, that formalites are more important than anything else., or is the combination now valid?
