Can an operator from an EASA member state adopt an Alt MoC (Alternative Mean of Compliance) that has been approved by a competent authority from another member state?

If so, where can the operator wanting to adopt the Alt MoC get it from?

Yes, it can be adopted by another operator in another member state, but the competent authority of that member state must still fully process and evaluate the AltMoC independently per ARO.GEN.120 (d). See also GM1 ARO.GEN.120 Means of compliance.
EASA publishes a list of AltMoCs notified to it here:
https://www.easa.europa.eu/download/altmoc/AltMoC-list-for-web.xlsx
Most CAs also publish the AltMoCs they approved. For CAs that do not publish them, you have to inquire with the respective CA.

Thank you very much. Very useful.
And to get and Alt MoC already approved by another authority other than mine I would need to contact that authority? Do you knoe if the the Alt MoC can be made available to operators from another member states?

Robert Gottwald

Some CAs publish the full text of the AltMoCs, for example Austria: https://www.austrocontrol.at/jart/prj3/ac/main.jart?rel=en&reserve-modeā€¦
Other CAs do not publish the AltMoCs they approved, so you would have to contact these based on the title/article of regulation. If you have a reasonable interest (as an operator e.g) and there are no security or other concerns, I would assume they would make them available on request. You still have to go through approval with your CA, but having the documented assessment and approval from another CA may help and/or expedite the process.
