How the pandemic has affected safety and security for the rotorcraft sector - 2021 NFOCUS Safety & Security - Time out with Peter Möller, Chairman of the EHA
Do you think it's fair to say the rotorcraft industry has continued to grow despite of the pandemic?
While we wouldn't say the rotorcraft sector has grown during the pandemic, it has on average held its position compared to the pre-pandemic situation and is very much diversified, said Peter Möller.

EASA has launched the European Aero-Medical Repository (EAMR), adding an additional tool to enhance flight safety by allowing traceability of commercial pilots’ medical certificates. The repository is intended to help aero-medical examiners (AMEs) to fulfil their obligations and provides support to the National authorities with their oversight and administrative work in the field of aviation medicine for commercial aviation. Dear Michael, the EAMR has been the result of a huge cross industry effort and was a key recommendation from the Germanwings Task Force and the French BEA's investigation. The standardisation approach at European Level and ability to exchange information when needed is a key part of it. Hope that helps.

Hi, Guys.
Please, does your Airline have an "Standard Mountainous Terrain/Area CALLOUT" from Flight Deck/Cockpit to the Cabin BEFORE to cross or enter on a Mountainous Terrain/Area?
IF YES, When and How is it performed, please? Via Passenger Address?
WHAT an HOW does the Cabin Crew behave and/or Respond to this CALLOUT, please?
Kindly, Dezon.
Hi Dezon,
We usually brief the MSA before commencing an approach using the information depicted on the plates. When we are cleared by ATC to descend below the MSA, we use the callout:
FLxxx or xxxx ft - below safety altitude
When flying over high terrain such as the Alps, there are no specific callouts but we have to be aware of potential diversion airports in case of depressurisation of the cabin.
Let me know if you need further information.
Best regards,
Benjamin
