Hi all,
Perhaps that someone can assist me on this.
Is there an EASA publication which explains Mandates and recommendations on Avionics Systems.

Dear friends,
thank you very much for your comments and opinions. I am very grateful to our community for quick response. Some answers are more detailed due to local differences of course.
For example, I don't expect to fly somebody to controlled airspace without Mode 3A/C transponder at least here in Slovakia. If yes, it will be very rare and special flight, probably some sort of historical vehicle flying with proper support. But this type of aircraft will definitely not use IFR procedures for any reason.
My question was about knowledge of any legal obstruction to perform flight according to published IFR procedures (STAR, SID, instrument approach) wit full respect of VFR (responsibility, separations etc.) and only in VMC obviously with suitable equipped aircraft capable to maintain required navigation performance.
Regarding the ATC, it looks that in this case very well known and expected flight trajectory could be an advance and simplification of situation awareness as you are not subject of separation and position is easy to be predicted.
Once more, thank you friends

EASA Handling Unanticipated Yaw (topic of the year) video now with an accompanying article, Dec. 15, 2023
https://www.easa.europa.eu/community/topics/handling-unanticipated-yaw
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mg5WtgthVyc
Unanticipated yaw is a high-risk phenomenon that can result in Loss of Control In-Flight (LoC-I) accidents, the number one killer also for rotorcraft.
This video is about a professional pilot that performs a training landing as part of an exercise with firefighters. During the short final, he experiences and recovers from unanticipated yaw. Pilots must be aware of and understand the risk of an unanticipated yaw and know how to prevent and recover from it. The key message is: Be prepared to experience unanticipated yaw and should that happen, decisively apply full opposite pedal to stop the yaw and recover control over the situation.
Thank you for sharing this material through your professional networks and on social media.

I should have been more specific: I meant in GA-operations. Good to know that Slovakia allows mobile phone in general aviation.

Greetings,
FCL.910.FI FI-Restricted Priviledges
(c) The limitations in (a) and (b) shall be removed from the FI certificate when the FI has completed at least:
(1) for the FI(A), 100 hours of flight instruction in aeroplanes or TMGs and, in addition has supervised at least 25 student solo flights;
My question is:
For the supervision of 25 student solo flights, is 1 takeoff and landing counted as one flight,or 1 flight is actually the complete flight with numerous takeoffs and landings?
Thanks
Anto

Hi, I am looking for the NPA from which COMMISSION IMPLEMENTING REGULATION (EU) 2020/2193 (amending Aircrew regulation) originated, as well as the associated CRD... and am not able to find any of them.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks

Thanks, Boudewijn. I have been there, and done that. However, I cannot find any references to for example FCL.035 (a) (4) in any of those NPAs... I have also looked in a bunch of prior NPAs where I have not found anything either, hence my question.

Hi Haxel, the NPA should be the following
Notice of Proposed Amendment 2023-01

I have a particular interest in this topic also.
Are there any agreements in place with the FAA to accept their STCs for the installation of digital instruments into certified aircraft, namely ELA1 and ELA2 by EASA?
The maintenance cost for glass cockpit plus the improved cockpit management of systems like Dynon Skyview really help improving safety and operational costs for GA.
Responding to a comment above, G1000 is an overkill for the weekend driver and not as user friendly for the occasional pilots, but there are other simpler instruments that give you the information at a glance and improve situational awareness and general navigation.
Steam gages… nothing wrong with that, but why limit options just because a legacy system is still working in the age of the internet? Kind of like sticking to a pencil when pens have also been invented.
I’m interested in finding out if Dynon Skyview could be installed on an old PA 32 that is being upgraded.
This would include night flying and IFR, coupled with an approved GPS system and ILS/VOR.
Also important to state that the EASA bureaucracy is not justifiable when compared to the well proven approach taken by the FAA for similar aircraft, so safety is not an excuse.
Also, consider this, how can a ICAO airplane land in EASAland with a foreign STC and be allowed to flyover safely as they should but similar EASA registered airplanes wouldn’t be deemed safe under the same circumstances?
Kind of like saying the same brand and model, when painted in red is safe and when painted in blue is unsafe.
There needs to be a level of coherence and logic applied to legislation, EASA should represent efficiency, standardization and safety, not complexity and problem finders.
Thanks in advance

Are you a pilot from Europe? Then we want to hear from you!
Take part in our survey on pilot incapacitation, sleep inertia, fatigue and breaks due to physiological needs https://survey.nlr.nl/eMCO-SiPO/index.php/451259?lang=en
Your contribution is anonymous.
The survey is part of a #research study on eMCO-SiPO - Extended Minimum Crew Operations – Single Pilot Operations – Safety Risk Assessment Framework (https://www.easa.europa.eu/en/research-projects/emco-sipo-extended-mini… ), contracted out to a consortium led by the Royal Netherlands Aerospace Centre (NLR) (tag NLR(11) NLR - Netherlands Aerospace Centre: Overview | LinkedIn). The study considers several aspects regarding the safety (risks) and regulatory impacts of eMCO-SiPO.
Your input is important to #EASA and will directly impact the outcomes of the study.

Considering that the main purpose of FTL requirements is to manage crew fatigue and insure flight safety, when an extra sector is added to the daily flights, it essentially creates more fatigue in the crew.
Therefor , it is necessary to reduce the maximum allowable FDP.
So in my opinion, in case of an unplanned extra sector, the maximum daily FDP should be calculated based on the number of new sectors( according to the table).
Essentially, this issue may be one of the example of extension of FDP due to unforeseen circumstances.
with regards.

Any chance that 75 year old ATPL pilot fly as a crew member King Air 200 (5700 kg) in air ambulance ops ?

Why not? Medical class one available ? This airplane has two pilots !
