Panel on GNSS interference - EASA Annual Safety Conference
The EASA Annual Safety Conference of 2024 took place in Budapest, Hungary on October 30-31. The theme of the conference was “Safety – technology – and the human dimension”. and was held in conjunction with Hungary’s EU presidency and in cooperation with the Hungarian Civil Aviation Authority.
A panel was dedicated in the topic of GNSS interference aiming to address the critical issue of GNSS interference (jamming and spoofing) and its impact on aviation safetyand regularity of operations.
The panel that was moderated by Cyrille Rosay, EASA Senior Expert in Cybersecurity in aviation and GNSS Taskforce lead gave to the experts the opportunity to discuss what can be done in the short-, mid-, and long-term to enhance resilience against such disruptions.
The panelists touched upon immediate mitigation techniques, advancements in GNSS technology, and future frameworks and system architectures for robust, interference-resistant navigation systems in support of PBN requirements.
