New EU LAC APP kicks-off with Cybersecurity workshop
The EU LAC Aviation Partnership project (APP) officially opened on 21 November 2022 in Foz de Iguazu (Brazil). The event has been organised with the cooperation of the ICAO NACC, ICAO SAM and ANAC Brazil covering Cybersecurity (21 November) and Disruptive Passengers (22 November) in dedicated workshops.
Mr Luc Tytgat, Strategy and Safety Management Director, highlighted the importance of cooperation between EASA & ICAO in the domains of safety & security and the role of EASA in Aviation Cybersecurity in Europe.
During the workshop on Cybersecurity, Mr. Davide Martini, Senior Expert in Aviation Cybersecurity, presented the European Centre for Cybersecurity in Aviation (ECCSA) and other EU initiatives in the field of cybersecurity. The participation of EASA, facilitated by the EU LAC APP was welcomed as important in the light of the recent increased cooperation between EASA and ANAC Brazil in this domain, with ANAC Brazil having joined the European Strategic Coordination Platform (ESCP).
