Dangerous Goods Training

Hi Gonçalo,

The syllabus is on IATA DGR Manual, in the respective training chapter.

Please note that the DGR training requirements have nothing to do with CAT or NCO or NCC. The training depends if you are an approved DG carrier or not. Also, it will depend on your function (check-in, cargo, crew, customer service, etc.). This is detailed in IATA DGR Manual.

I hope this helps.

Hi all,
You can also find all necessary information in the Technical Instructions For The Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air (ICAO Doc 9284). The broad principles governing the international transport of dangerous goods by air are contained in Annex 18 to the Convention on International Civil Aviation The Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air. The Technical Instructions amplify the basic provisions of Annex 18 and contain all the detailed instructions necessary for the safe international transport of dangerous goods by air. The Technical Instructions require that the training syllabus for operators involved in the transport of DG be approved by the CAA and recommend the approval of all other training programmes. General requirement for DG contained within Ch 10 of ICAO An 18. In addition, you have a very well constructed UK CAA document CAP 483 (with detail structured training syllabus).
I hope this helps.

If your intent is to develop DGR training courses or programs, consider also reviewing Doc 10147 for the latest ICAO Guidance on a Competency-based Approach to Dangerous Goods Training and Assessment.
