Cybertech Europe 2023 & EASA participation

Cybertech Europe is the European part of the global Cybertech Exhibition, an event combining business and conferences on all aspects of cybersecurity. The Cybertech Europe conference and exhibition featured the latest innovative solutions on a wide variety of topics on the cybersecurity domain from dozens of companies and speakers, including senior government officials, C-level executives, and industry trailblazers from Europe and worldwide.

The Cybertech Europe 2023 took place in the La Nuvola Convention Center in Rome on October 3rd-4th, 2023.

EASA team members of the Cybersecurity in Aviation and Emerging Risks section actively participated in the event and delivered presentations from the perspective of the aviation sector in the EU.

The Section Manager of the Cybersecurity in Aviation and Emerging Risks Section, Gian Andrea Bandieri gave a speech on the topic of protecting aviation organisations from cybersecurity risks. In particular, the current status of implementation of EASA strategy for increasing aviation cyber resilience was presented with a particular focus on Part-IS regulation objectives.

The Senior Expert of EASA in Cybersecurity in Aviation, Davide Martini was part of the Capacity Building panel and delivered a presentation as well. The Senior Expert presented the cybersecurity roles and skills that are required in aviation to cope with the secure development and certification of aviation parts and equipment, as well as by Part-IS regulatory provisions.

The Cybertech EU 2023 has been a great opportunity to present the work done so far by EASA and put in relation to the wider regulatory effort of the EU commission and the activity of ENISA on cybersecurity.
