Cybersecurity Session in EASA Safety Week 2024

During the EASA Safety Week 2024 a dedicated session on cybersecurity took place on Thursday, the 25th of April, at 10:00-11:30 and focused on how to address information security risks by implementing an Information Security Management System in compliance with Part-IS.

Safety Week 2024

The session provided the participants with insights on what are the biggest implementation preparation challenges on Part-IS from an early implementers' perspective focusing in the availability of qualified personnel as one of the key issues identified by both the panelists and the participants. This question sparked the discussion in the first panel with authorities representatives and provided a good basis for discussion for the industry panel that took place immediately after this one.

Why do you consider an ISMS important?

This question gave another opportunity to the participants to engage via slido in this interactive session and gave the chance to authorities to further elaborate on this.

The session finished with a short conclusion by EASA and our wish for similar events in the future where both authorities and industry experts can exchange in an engaging way on aviation cybersecurity topics having the interaction from at least 400 participants live on both webex and YouTube.

Missed the live event? No worries, you can find the recorded session below:

Stay tuned as within the next month we will make a dedicated post answering some of the numerous questions received via Slido during the event!
