A pair of former champions will square off in hopes of getting their career back on track.
American superstar Haney, 26, will make his first appearance on the competitive canvas following his overturned loss to fierce foe Ryan Garcia due to a drug-related ban for the latter.
Haney will dust-up against Jose Carlos Ramirez on a card organised by Turki Alalshikh's The Ring Magazine and lauded for it's uniqueness as New York's Times Square stages its first boxing event.

The loss against Garcia was overturned after "King Ry" failed a drug test. Haney has remained out of the ring, engaging in legal battles against Garcia. Now back in action, Haney is ready to prove to his detractors he's still one of the best in the sport.

"Y'all can boo or y'all can cheer. It doesn't matter. It's all noise. When I dust Jose Ramirez off on Friday, I'm gonna get to Ryan after," Haney said.
Ramirez (29-2) is a former WBC and WBO super lightweight champion. He failed to unify against Josh Taylor, rebounded, but lost a three-fight win streak against Arnold Barboza Jr. Competing within a new division, the 32-year-old looks to show he still has something to give within boxing.
"I know he's a very talented fighter. He's a good fighter. But on Friday, May 2, I will beat Devin Haney. My best chapter is yet to come," Ramirez said.
Ramirez, who opened his career on a 26-0 run, may not poses the skill to outbox Haney but he certainly has the power.
Ultimately, there is a belief that it's a holding match for Haney ahead of a heavily scheduled rematch with Garcia.
