Ramirez (29-2) is a former WBC and WBO super lightweight champion. He failed to unify against Josh Taylor, rebounded, but lost a three-fight win streak against Arnold Barboza Jr. Competing within a new division, the 32-year-old looks to show he still has something to give within boxing.
"I know he's a very talented fighter. He's a good fighter. But on Friday, May 2, I will beat Devin Haney. My best chapter is yet to come," Ramirez said.
Haney will dust-up against Jose Carlos Ramirez on a card organised by Turki Alalshikh's The Ring Magazine and lauded for it's uniqueness as New York's Times Square stages its first boxing event.
