I have a short question about take-off clearances. I have a hard time finding official documentation on it:
To my knowledge (as a pilot) a take-off clearance may not contain other clearances. As I recall this was changed some years ago due to some incidents. Example: "runway 11 cleared for take-off after departure cleared right hand circuits runway 11" would be ok years ago but today these come as two separate clearances. Anyone knows the official documentation on this? Can't seem to find it in docs such as DOC 4444.

Hello Mr. Johansen!

Give ICAO DOC 4444 - Chapter 7 - 7.9.3.2 a try - in my humble opinion, it clearly mandates the need for an ATC clearance to be transmitted/received prior to the issue of a take-off clearance - hence keeping them ‘separate’.

Hope this helps!

Kind regards,

For Europe, this is also directly reflected in the regulations per
AMC17 ATS.TR.210(a)(3) Operation of air traffic control service under Point (b).
