Hi,
I have question regarding FCL.915.SFI SFI-Prerequisites.
As stated, there are listed items that candidate shall meet. My question is, are these prerequisites applicable before START of TRAINING or they must be met before START of APPLICATION.
For example, SFI candidate must have 2 LOFT sessions. Can we start training for SFI before he performed 2 LOFT sessions? And then he performs it after training before CAA application?

Thank you.

The prerequisites listed in FCL.915.SFI (Synthetic Flight Instructor) must be met before the start of the application, not necessarily before the start of the training. This means that a candidate can begin their training for the SFI without having completed all the prerequisites, such as the 2 LOFT (Line Oriented Flight Training) sessions, as long as these requirements are fulfilled before the candidate submits their application to the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority).

In your example, the candidate can start the SFI training and complete the 2 LOFT sessions during or after the training, provided that all the prerequisites are met by the time they apply for the SFI authorisation.

However, it is always a good practice to confirm this with the specific CAA or regulatory authority you are dealing with, as there may be variations or additional requirements based on the local regulations.

Thank you for information. I suppose that Examiner must check that all prerequisites are met before AoC. When I send notification to CAA I receive from most of authorities that exam is approved provided Examiner checked that all prerequisites are met.
