Hi, Guys.

Please, does your Airline have an "Standard Mountainous Terrain/Area CALLOUT" from Flight Deck/Cockpit to the Cabin BEFORE to cross or enter on a Mountainous Terrain/Area?

IF YES, When and How is it performed, please? Via Passenger Address?

WHAT an HOW does the Cabin Crew behave and/or Respond to this CALLOUT, please?

Kindly, Dezon.

Hey Dezon, no they don't. I personally brief the crew pre-flight that we'll be crossing over high terrain between ... and ... hours from departure and what they can expect in case of rapid descent/decompression.

Sincerely,

Guido

Hi Dezon,

We usually brief the MSA before commencing an approach using the information depicted on the plates. When we are cleared by ATC to descend below the MSA, we use the callout:

FLxxx or xxxx ft - below safety altitude

When flying over high terrain such as the Alps, there are no specific callouts but we have to be aware of potential diversion airports in case of depressurisation of the cabin.
Let me know if you need further information.

Best regards,
Benjamin
